Welcome to UpRoom (the "Website"). This Privacy Policy explains how EL4 TECH LTD, a company incorporated in England and Wales (Company No. 15517465) with registered office at 124 City Road, London, EC1V 2NX, United Kingdom ("Company", "we", "us", "our"), collects, uses and protects personal data of visitors and users ("you", "your") in compliance with the UK Data Protection Act 2018 and the UK GDPR, and the EU General Data Protection Regulation (Regulation (EU) 2016/679).
By using UpRoom or providing us with your data, you confirm that you have read and understood this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please stop using the Website.
1. Definitions
- Data Controller — EL4 TECH LTD, responsible for personal data collected via UpRoom.
- Personal Data — any information relating to an identified or identifiable person.
- Processing — any operation performed on personal data (collection, storage, use, disclosure, deletion, etc.).
- Services — any services we offer via the Website.
2. Personal data we collect
We collect only data necessary to operate UpRoom, including:
- First and last name
- Email address
- Phone number (optional)
- Property link (e.g. Rightmove / Zoopla URL) you submit
- Preferences and choices you make inside the product
- Source (how you found out about us)
We do not collect or store payment card data. All payments are processed by independent providers such as Stripe.
3. Legal basis and purposes of processing
We process your personal data to:
- provide the Services and respond to your requests;
- improve and personalise your experience;
- send service updates and (with your consent) marketing communications;
- prevent fraud and secure the Website;
- comply with our legal obligations.
Legal bases include: your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR), performance of a contract (Art. 6(1)(b)), our legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f)), and compliance with legal obligations (Art. 6(1)(c)). You can withdraw consent at any time; this does not affect the lawfulness of processing before withdrawal.

We may share data with trusted processors who help us run UpRoom, including cloud hosting providers, analytics services, email and AI providers (e.g. AWS, Google, OpenAI, Anthropic). These partners may only process your data on our instructions and under appropriate safeguards.

We retain personal data only for as long as necessary for the purposes for which it was collected, including legal, accounting or reporting requirements. Marketing contacts are kept for up to 2 years; account data for the duration of your account and up to 1 year after deletion; financial records for up to 7 years.

Where data is transferred outside the UK / EEA, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or EU Standard Contractual Clauses.

UpRoom is not directed to children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from minors. If you believe a child has provided personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the latest version. Continued use of UpRoom after changes means you accept them.
